Techicare is a home technology support service based in Uxbridge and Watford, providing home visits and technical assistance to individuals across the local area. We operate as a registered business in England and Wales.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide our service:

• Contact information — your name, phone number, email address and home address or postcode, so we can arrange and conduct your visit.
• Service information — details about the devices and services you need help with, so we can prepare appropriately.
• Booking information — your preferred date and time for visits, collected via our booking system (Calendly).
• Payment information — we accept cash and card payments. Card payments are processed securely through SumUp. We do not store your card details.
• Communications — records of texts, WhatsApp messages, emails or calls you make to us, so we can follow up appropriately.
• Visit notes — a brief record of what was done during each visit, stored as your Digital Care Plan where applicable.
• Website data — analytics data may be collected with your consent via cookies (see Section 7).

We do not collect sensitive personal data such as financial account details or health information unless you voluntarily share it with us.

3. Why We Hold Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes, each with a lawful basis under UK GDPR:

• Delivering your service (contractual necessity) — arranging visits, confirming bookings, following up after visits.
• Sending relevant communications (legitimate interests) — follow-up texts and messages relevant to your use of our service. You can opt out at any time.
• Processing payments (contractual necessity) — issuing receipts and maintaining financial records.
• Legal compliance (legal obligation) — keeping records as required by HMRC and applicable law.

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your information to anyone, ever. We share it only in these limited circumstances:

• Our technicians — team members who conduct your visit receive your name, address and service details only.
• Calendly — our booking platform. When you book a visit, your name, email and selected time are shared with Calendly. Their privacy policy applies: calendly.com/privacy
• SumUp — our card payment processor. Their privacy policy applies to payment data.
• Legal requirement — if required by law, court order or regulatory authority.

5. How Long We Keep Your Information

• Customer records and visit notes: 6 years from your last visit (required by HMRC).
• Enquiries that did not become bookings: Deleted after 12 months.
• Marketing communications records: Deleted after 2 years of inactivity or on request.

6. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, object to, and receive a portable copy of your personal information. To exercise any right, contact us at hello@techicare.co.uk or call 01895 737042 (Uxbridge) or 01923 572112 (Watford). We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
